This means two things. First the protection is for a long, sustained period of time. Think decades and a minimum of 20 years. And second, the protection is done in a sustainable way, with no irreversible damage done.

This is ensured by working with reputable Nature Protection Organizations (NPOs) that protect, rewild or restore areas that are threatened and/or are important for their biodiversity, while empowering local and indigenous communities.
